Two years on from the first, we unleashed our second festival.

The world around us had changed, and Wunderbar Festival 2011 aimed to reflect that.

Fired by extraordinary artists from across the world, it released the energy and spirit of its participants into 15 projects featuring spontaneous interactions, dialogue and play all around Newcastle and Gateshead.

2011 saw the doors open to a Human Library where people were books, office workers were invited to a Deskchair Disco, and audiences were treated to free popcorn and massage chairs  in an exhibition challenging the tropes of capitalism.

It all radiated from the vibrant warmth of the Wunderbar HQ and A School and closed loudly and brilliantly with another seriously Wunderbar party, Noise Karaoke.
