Come along on Wednesday 19 October to help make Ben Scott’s Field back into a proper football pitch for everyone in Loftus to enjoy.
Please bring along your friends and family to help – the more people we have, the better, easier – and more fun – it will be. Then we’ll team up for a friendly game on the pitch we made.
It’s a chance to use this space to mark out our own pitch on the field and for teams to play matches without having to travel out of town.
We’ll be on site from 3.30pm til around 5.30pm.
Middlesborough FC Foundation and Everyone Active will be around too, so we can find out about their plans for new programmes in Loftus, including a local version of MFC Foundation’s youth programme Kicks.
Ben Scotts Field is the field on the corner of Westfield Way and Seymour Hill Terrace/Hummersea Lane in Loftus, North Yorkshire. It has one old goal on it and some disused old changing rooms. Here’s the map
What’s Draw Your Own Pitch?
Draw Your Own Pitch is a playful, public, football-pitch-creating one-day event. Run by Wunderbar as part of their Play Ball project, it’s is a simple way for a group of people to create a proper football pitch on an available area of public land.
In August we took the project to Leeds where we had a brilliant time creating our pop up pitch in Burmontofts with the young people’s football club Street Work Soccer. Here’s more about that.
We look forward to playing ball with you.
